SUMMARY:Savvy Caregiver Training
DESCRIPTION:Eastern Area Agency on Aging is sponsoring a free 12-hour Savvy Caregiver Training for people caring for a family member or friend with dementia\, presented by Lisa King\, Social Service Director at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Machias and a Master Savvy Caregiver Trainer through the Office of Aging & Disability and Department of Health & Human Services.  The class meets for 2 hours each Friday over a period of 6 weeks beginning August 24\, 2018\, from 2 – 4 pm in the conference room at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Machias.  The Maine Savvy Caregiver program builds attitude\, skills and knowledge to help caregivers develop confidence\, learn strategies for interacting and communicating with their family member\, and how to better understand and manage challenging behaviors.  Download a flyer.  Register today by calling EAAA at 941-2865.
