SUMMARY:Impacts of Poverty on Students & Families: Poverty 101
DESCRIPTION:This is the rescheduled training from March 18th\, presented by Elin MacKinnon\, LCSW\,  and designed for staff at all levels in Family Futures Downeast partner organizations featuring scenarios and content consistent with 2Gen approaches with a specific focus on Washington County early and higher education.  At the conclusion of this training\, participants will understand:\n• The various types of poverty\n• How poverty is measured\n• How social policy and poverty are linked\n• Links between ACES\, toxic stress and poverty\n• Poverty and the science of resiliency\n• Best practice responses to poverty\nThis training is an introduction (101 version) to poverty and its impacts. Participants who are formal partners providing supports to the FFD program and have attended a poverty training led by Elin Mackinnon\, LCSW or Julie Redding\, LCPC\,  have already met the FFD training requirement for Poverty 101. Staff from other CCC partner organizations who find this relevant to their work are welcome to attend. The training will be held from 9 am to 12 noon in Science 102 at the University of Maine\, Machias. Registration for this training is now closed.  However\, a webinar version is being developed and will be offered shortly.  Look for announcements in the CCC’s Wednesday Communique (subscribe here). \n  \n
