SUMMARY:Guiding with Purpose
DESCRIPTION:The CCC is excited to be bringing a new training: Guiding with Purpose: Strengthening Skills for Collaborative Dialogue\, presented by Abby Frutchey\, LMSW\, LADC\, CCS.  This 3-hour virtual training\, developed for FFD but open to all CCC partners\, is designed to enhance participants’ ability to lead meaningful\, person-centered conversations that foster connection\, motivation\, and growth. Emphasis is placed on the practice of deep listening and the use of collaborative strategies to create an empowering environment that supports sustainable change. \nThrough interactive exercises and “real-play” practice\, participants will refine foundational skills such as open-ended questioning\, affirmations\, reflections\, and summarization. These techniques strengthen rapport\, encourage personal autonomy\, and build confidence in facilitating collaborative dialogue.  Because the training is highly interactive and skill-based\, full participation and attendance for the entire session is requested.  Participants will receive a certificate for three contact hours. \nRegister for this training by clicking/tapping on this link.

SUMMARY:Family Harvest Meal 2025
DESCRIPTION:The CCC’s Annual Family Harvest Meal is still on for Friday\, October 31st this year — rain or shine.   Angie’s Comfort Kitchen will cater a delicious roast turkey dinner beginning at 4 until food runs out.  This year we welcome community organizations involved in food security who offer their own community meals to participate in our harvest dinner.  Cobscook Institute and Lubec Community Outreach Center are just a couple of organizations who will be contributing to the meal\, along with our loyal volunteer bakers\, like the Lubec Women’s Club and Machias Memorial High School.  We also welcome family-serving agencies to drop off flyers\, rack cards and other materials they’d like families to see\, and we always welcome more volunteers to help set up\, serve\, clean up spills\, direct traffic\, and help us tend to everyone’s needs. Contact Julie at jredding@cccmaine.org if you’d like to volunteer or share program materials. You can help us promote this event by  downloading a flyer to share. \nIf you’d like to make a financial donation\, here’s a link to our online donation site.  Please join us for this family-friendly event\, and don’t forget your Halloween costume!
