SUMMARY:Family Harvest Meal to go!
DESCRIPTION:The CCC and partners invite community members in the Machias Valley region to a free boxed meal to go (chicken with gravy or a vegetarian option\, both with delicious sides like squash\, potatoes\, and baked mac and cheese) on Friday\, November 13th\, celebrating nature’s bountiful summer and fall harvest.  Last year we held a communal feast at the Pellon Center where we treated over 250 community members to a roast chicken and squash dinner\, with activities for children and prizes for Halloween costumes.  This year\, with health concerns and restrictions limiting the number of people who can gather indoors for events\, Family Harvest Meal will be ready for pickup between 3 and 5 pm outside the Pellon Center (behind Subway in Machias).  Community members will stay inside their cars and volunteers will bring meals to peoples’ vehicles at the main entrance to the Pellon Center.  Families are also invited to pick up a meal for a neighbor or other family member.  (We have reached our max for pre-orders and are no longer accepting them.) \n

SUMMARY:Vision Day 2019
DESCRIPTION:The Community Caring Collaborative invites you to Vision Day 2019: focus on childcare on December 4th from 9 am to 3 pm at Cobscook Community Learning Center.  This is an opportunity for all members of the collaborative — service providers\, administrators\, educators\, advocates\, volunteers and community members —  to bring ideas to the table that address a specific set of needs for Washington County residents.  We do this every couple of years in the relaxed atmosphere of our favorite vision day venue — the CCLC — where creativity and dreaming big are encouraged.  This year we’re focusing on childcare.  Help us envision a Washington County where all childcare needs and wants are met.  Dream of all the ways childcare in Washington County can support children\, families\, and the economy.  It will take people with experience in all aspects of this equation (parents\, child care providers/managers\, policy makers\, educators and workforce development experts) to fully tackle the issues\, but we can start on December 4th and go from there.  Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. \nRegistration is closed for this event.  Please contact Christine at claurel@cccmaine.org if you wish to attend.
