July 21st, Lost Fishermen’s Memorial in Lubec, ME 12-1 pm: Please join us on Monday, July 21 at the Lost Fishermen’s Memorial in Lubec, ME from Noon — 1 pm as we commemorate the day as Commercial Fishing Remembrance Day. An event orchestrated by Liz Michaud, aunt to Tylar Michaud whom she lost two years ago on this day which inspired her to create Green and White Hope, Inc., and signed off by Governor Mills to officially have a day of remembrance for all the loved ones we’ve lost doing the work the salt water in their veins calls them to do and helping to feed our nation and abroad.

- CCC’s one-hour virtual companion to the 3-hour in person training, Stress? What Stress?: What Brain Science and Toxic Stress Teach us about Weather Rough Roads, held on June 11th focusing on Toxic Stress & ALICE data. This extended session is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23rd at 9 am and will incorporate more of the material not covered on June 11th due to time constraints. Presenter, Julie Redding, will dive more deeply into research on effects of stress on the brain and strategies to support program participants as well as ourselves. New Brief Alert: Medicare Caregiver Training Services Report
Family caregivers share that training in essential medical tasks — like wound care, medication management, and feeding support — helps them feel more comfortable in caring for their loved ones. This week, NAC released “Trends in Innovation: Implementing and Refining Caregiving Training Services in Medicare,” a new report focused on Caregiver Training Services (CTS) under the CY 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. Through on-the-ground insights from Northwell Health and RUSH University Medical Center, plus practical tools and caregiver stories, this resource is designed to support health systems and advocates in expanding training for caregivers who help loved ones navigate serious illnesses like cancer.
