Poverty in Washington County – 2025

The CCC is excited to announce a new training this November, Poverty in Washington County: emerging concerns and responses, Friday, November 21st, 9 am — 12 Noon at the University of Maine, Machias in Science 102.  Presented by CCC Director Charley Martin-Berry with guest speaker Ana Hicks, Policy Director in the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, this training will examine changes in public benefits that will impact people already in poverty.  We will also discuss what works and look at  poverty bias and worthiness, asking where these assumptions and beliefs come from and what are barriers to accessing supports.  This free, informative and timely educational opportunity is open to all CCC partners.  Contact Hour Certificate available.  Register by November 14th using the form below.
