Are you caring for the child of a family member, friend or neighbor, or are you a parent whose child is cared for by a family member, friend or neighbor? The Community Caring Collaborative is piloting programming to support informal caregivers in Washington County.
Our Resource Coordinator, Kat Nyssen, can help informal caregivers access materials and learning opportunities on stages of development, behaviors, safe environments for kids, and other topics. She will also connect caregivers to each other for mutual support and community connections. “Our aim is to support Family, Friend & Neighbor Downeast caregivers in whatever capacity is most useful to them, whether it’s folding laundry while we chat, providing things like car seats or play equipment, or furthering their knowledge of child development and safety,” says Kat. “We are here to connect and to build community.”
