Affordable Connectivity Program

You may be eligible for $30 per month toward broadband service or $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.  Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. Contact Brooke Hachey at SCEC with questions about eligibility and more.

Assessment Survey for Providers

Family Futures Downeast Coach, Jessie McPhail, is writing her Master’s thesis on available resources in WC.  She has created an assessment survey for providers posted on Facebook, asking questions like how available are resources and how do the requests go.  She has also created an assessment for people who have used resources themselves.


SCEC is Hiring!
Sunrise County Economic Council is hiring an office manager, full or part-time, based in Machias. The Office Manager coordinates the work of local contractors to maintain SCEC’s facilities in a safe and efficient manner and provides administrative support for programs of SCEC, and other duties as assigned.  The job duties include: office support for the SCEC offices, reception at 7 Ames Way, and supply orders. This position’s responsibilities also include proficiency with standard office equipment and computer programs. The Office Manager reports to the SCEC Finance & Admin Director.  Salary Range: $21 – $24 per hour based on education and experience.  Deadline to apply is December 28th.  Apply here.
