Warm Your Heart Silent Auction

Healthy Acadia’s “Warm Your Heart” Online Silent Auction returns February 3–9, with all proceeds supporting our health programs and resources for the community.  We’re seeking donated items from businesses and individuals, including new or gently used goods and services. Winter Classic Open Chess Tournament

Saturday, February 7th, 8 am – 3 pm, Cobscook Institute: The Winter Classic Open Chess Tournament organized by the Maine Chess Association is an annual event at Cobscook Institute. This tournament welcomes chess players of all ages and skill levels from Maine and beyond to participate in a competitive and friendly chess environment.  Learn more and register.


CPS 101 for Providers

February 11th, 1 – 2 pm, Child Protective Services 101 for Providers by Parents:  This is a  free virtual informational session co-facilitated by parents with lived experience in Maine’s Child Protective Services (CPS) and designed for providers who support families involved in the system. The session aims to help inform providers about Maine’s Child Protective Services system and provide practical tips for how to best support families navigating the process.  The informational session will include:
  • An introduction to key Child Protective Services roles, including a caseworker, parent attorney, guardian ad litem, assistant attorney general, and judge
  • Tips for how to support parent engagement in the Child Protective Services process
