Today, May 27th, is the final day registration is open for CCC Vision Day 2026 at the Eastport Arts Center. We’ve had such a wonderful response that we have to close our registration a couple of days early, so if you’re thinking about attending, get your registration in by 5 pm today using this link.
The deadline for submitting abstracts to the Maine Public Health Association 2026 Annual Conference is Friday, May 29th at 5 pm. If you have any questions about the submission process or the conference, please email us. MPHA 2026 Annual Conference, Nourish to Flourish: Cultivating Healthy Communities for Today and the Future, will take place on Thursday, October 1st, at the Augusta Civic Center.

- Ellsworth “Bridgerton Tea & Bubbly” Survivor Celebration: Sunday, June 7, 2026, 2 pm, Ellsworth Location, Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center, 23 Commerce Park, Ellsworth ME. Guests are invited to enjoy tea, delicious treats, bubbly refreshments, and meaningful moments honoring the incredible journeys of cancer survivors. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite pastels and celebrate together in style.

Each year, the Maine Children’s Alliance Giraffe Awards honor individuals, organizations, and community champions who “stick their necks out” for children and families through exceptional advocacy, leadership, service, and support. These awards celebrate those making a meaningful impact in the lives of children across our communities and recognize the dedication, compassion, and commitment that help children thrive! We invite you to help us recognize the remarkable people and organizations working tirelessly on behalf of children and families by submitting a nomination between May 19th and June 30th. Please complete the Google nomination form in full, including contact information for both the nominator and the individual or organization being nominated. And be sure to save the date for this year’s celebratory dinner event: Champions for Children Giraffe Awards Dinner, Saturday, October 3rd, Harraseeket Inn- Freeport.
The Office of Child and Family Services looks forward to the opportunity over the coming months to connect with early childhood professionals, families, employers and community partners both in person and virtually through an OCFS Listening Tour via Virtual Town Halls and Community Circles. These sessions are specifically designed for those closest to and most impacted by the early childhood sector to share their experiences, challenges, and priorities. All community meetings will run from 5:30 – 7 pm. These are family friendly events. At each community meeting, a local child care provider or Head Start will be available to supervise children while their parents attend the meeting. Please RSVP for a community circle here.

Safe Families for Children hosts vulnerable children and creates extended family–like supports for families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families together. Volunteers are being trained to provide these services to families in the Machias area. Please share this flyer to help spread the word.
