Governor’s Monthly Opioid Response Seminar

May 1st, 11:30 am — 12:30 pm, Virtual: This session explores the intersection of crisis response and substance use, with a focus on supporting individuals in high-need situations. Hear from Michael Freysinger and Amanda Thompson of the Maine Office of Behavioral Health as they share insights on stigma, immediate support needs, and longer-term treatment approaches for those working in crisis systems.  Register here.

AAA Grand Opening in Ellsworth

Tuesday, May 5th, 10 am — 12 Noon, at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center, 23 Commerce Park: Eastern Area Agency on Aging is excited to be opening a new access center in Ellsworth at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center.  We are celebrating this grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by speakers, a tour of the facility and light refreshments.  Come join us and learn about the many ways we support older adults and caregivers.  Contact info@eaaa.org with questions.


Drive-Thru DETLC Benefit Luncheon

Friday, May 8th: Support local teens and enjoy a delicious homemade lunch. Healthy Acadia is teaming up with CWCIT culinary arts students at Machias Memorial High School to host a drive-thru luncheon on Friday, May 8, with proceeds benefiting Down East Teen Leadership Camp. Camp Spark Tech Day

CCC Vision Day

June 3rd, 9 am — 3 pm at the Eastport Arts Center: The Community Caring Collaborative is excited to welcome partners and community members to a classic CCC gathering in June: Vision Day 2026. This convening is about imagining the future of our place together. Our promise is to create the space to dream. A traditional vision day invites participants to let their shoulders down, connect, and focus their energy on possibility.  We’ll explore questions like: what is the Washington County we want to live in and work in? Sunrise Prevention Council Free Parent Education

Sunrise Opportunities Prevention Council offers free online parenting education for caregivers looking for support, encouragement, and practice calls, such as:
  • Circle of Security Parenting: Helps caregivers better understand their children’s emotional needs and builds strong, secure, trusting relationships.
  • Active Parenting First Five Years: Offers support for parents of young children around child development, positive discipline, communication, school readiness, and healthy daily routines.
  • Parenting Through Treatment & Recovery: helps parents strengthen family relationships, builds confidence and creates a safer, more stable home while in treatment or recovery.

Tri-County CAP Intake Specialist

Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties is seeking a full-time Intake Specialist based in Machias.  This essential role is responsible for assisting individuals and families in connecting to resources, involving intake, assessments, referring, service coordination and follow-up. Learn more and apply for this exciting opportunity here.

CCC Invites you to our standing meetings

CCC convenes standing meetings for two different groups to which all are welcome to attend:
  • CCC Work Group, a meeting of frontline providers and admins to share resources, discuss challenges and learn about new opportunities.  This group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 1 — 2:30 pm, either in person or on Zoom.  Check this schedule for meeting locations.  To learn more and to receive calendar invites, contact Christy Laurel.
  • TCI Resource Partners, a meeting of frontline workers, managers, and program directors committed to the success of The Connection Initiative. This group meets every Wednesday from 3 – 4 pm on Zoom, except for the first Wednesday of the month.
