Hope Conference Call for Presentations
The HOPE Conference planning committee is looking for workshop presenters for this year’s conference. All workshops must be facilitated or lead by a consumer/peer.  Email Vickie Hebert at vhebert@maineccm.org to request being paired with a mentor and any further information that would help us pair you with the right person. Frost Fair

Saturday, Feb 7th, 10 am – 2 pm: Are you ready for some winter fun? For a second consecutive year, we’re teaming up with Friends of Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge for our 2nd annual Frost Fair: A Winter Wildlife Fun Day, on Saturday, February 7. The free, all-ages event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge headquarters in Baring.  Learn more.


Community Ice Skating at MSCM

Join Maine Seacoast Mission for ice skating every Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm this winter. The Mission provides both ice skates and helmets for children and adults. In addition to ice skating, there are indoor activities including board games. Lunch, snacks, and hot cocoa are provided. These activities are free and open to all community members.  There will also be skating during February break from Tuesday, February 17 to Friday, February 20 from 10 am to 2 pm. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Ice skating will be weather dependent. These activities will happen on the Mission’s Downeast Campus at the EdGE Center, 7 Weald Bethel Lane in Cherryfield. Ryan Kelly Cyber Security Talk

Feb 20th, 7 pm in the Performing Arts Center, UMaine Machias: With over a million followers on TikTok Ryan, Kelly will be using his master’s degree in Homeland Defense to talk about Cyber Security in a fun, informative way.  Learn how to spot AI, common scams, and more.  This is free and open to the public due to generous support from the University of Maine Foundation.

4-H Science Fridays

University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H is offering Science Fridays once a month from 3–4:30 p.m. through October for youth ages nine to 14. Led by 4-H Professional Gabby Brodek, this club will focus on exploring science topics and skills, spending time outside, and becoming familiar with the University of Maine at Machias campus. Sessions include Thin Ice-Walkers on Feb. 27, Maple Sugaring on March 13 and Balloon Shuttles on April 17. The events are free; registration is required. TSLCA Summit
Tuesday, April14 9-12 & Thursday, April 16, 12-3: Join the Tri-State Learning Collaborative on Aging for this year’s summit: Lifelong Communities — The Future of Healthy Aging on Zoom.  During this virtual event we’ll reflect on the progress we’ve made creating lifelong communities where we can all live healthy, engaged and secure lives as we age, and discuss new strategies for building strong communities of organizations and individuals that support healthy aging in the years ahead.
